Happy Halloween...Stuff..and down a day.

So we went out and bought a few things that we need for our upcoming travels. Here are a few pics of some of the items we have bought.

(These suitcases are huge...I think we might be able to sneak our
little guy in one and bring him home our first trip.)

And...drum roll please.....we are at 16 days.

Trick or treat.....

Today we went and had our last set of shots. YiPpEe...so glad that is over. We ran a few errands and bought a few more things for our upcoming trip today. We are waiting for all of the cute kiddos to come to our door. I cannot wait until we get to spend Halloween with our little guy. Tonight we are going to book our Paris hotel. Another day down...17...17 can you believe we are almost two weeks away.

It's raining..it's pouring

no one around here is snoring. Last night we put our emergency kit together that we are taking with us. This includes everything we just bought plus some. I also decided I want to try and new project. While I was explaining it to my dear husband he laughed at my idea. So I am not going to mention what it is, but if it turns out I will post a pic. If it doesn't turn out that husband of mine can tell me he was right, I am determined to not let that happen. Wish me luck. We invited Caleb's family over for dinner tonight. Since it has been a little colder we decided to make stew. I am so excited to eat dinner. Mmmmm. We are also another day closer to meeting our little guy.

Some shopping...

Today we bought all of the medications we need to take with us as well as the all the other safety items. We also finished our Visa applications this morning. We should be able to mail them in on Monday and have our Visa's in about a week.

My Sweet...I Love You

On my way home tonight I sent a text to one of my sister-n-laws. (while I was stopped at a red light) I sent a text that said "Will you tell Rylee that I love her? Thanks" I thought for sure my sister-n-law would think I was crazy. My niece just turned two a couple of weeks ago. As the light turns green my phone rings. I answer and I hear my niece say "Hi, Kacee". Right then I choke up and start tearing up. I asked what she was doing, she said sitting with mommy. I asked if she had dinner, which she said yes. Then she says there is something scary as she screams the word scary. At the end of the call I tried to pull myself together, I told her I loved her. She replies with I love you Kacee, bye. Melted my heart. I thanked her mom for calling me and how much it meant. She made my long day end on a great note. So to finish on that great note we are down another day.

Somethings I can't wait for...

Some of the things that I look forward to the most:

1. Seeing our little guy for the first time.

2. Looking into his big beautiful eyes and reassure him that he has a mom and dad who loved him before we ever met him.

3. Kissing our little guy.

4. Having our first photo as a family of three.

5. Holding him until my arms hurt.

Our little guy has already stolen my heart. It is amazing how lucky we are to have someone waiting to be our son and oh how we have waited for this day.
days until we are on our way.

The count down....

days until we are on our way to meet our SON.

As every day passes I get more and more excited and honestly a little nervous. Nervous for the unknowns. We have done lots of research but who knows what we will see in our travels. I often think about what our little guy is doing. Is he is being taken care of? What his orphanage is like? Is he healthy and strong? What is his personality like? So many of of these unknowns will be known, and soon. Once I get to hold him in my arms and love on him, how will I be strong enough to let him go?

Caleb and I were out running errands on Friday after our shots. Here is how part of our conversation went:
K: Tell me the one thing you love the most about me.
C: He says a couple of things in a joking manner, then as we are getting ready to get out of the car he says "The thing I love the most about you is....how much you love our little guy".

Are you kidding me??? Melt my heart. I honestly thought he would just keep joking about his answer. I love my husband.

More shots done

Today we went to the travel clinic and had another set of shots. I have to make one more doctors visit for both of us to get the next Hep A/B shot. This should happen within the next couple of weeks.

A non update Update

Today we received an email update on our little guy. When I first looked at the numbers for his height and weight they were the exact same as the update we received two months ago. I emailed the girl at our agency to see if they can double check the numbers. It is hard to think that he hasn't gained any weight or gotten any longer. So long story short we are asking the orphanage to double check that they sent the correct numbers to us, so stay tuned because there will be another update.

Is it too early????

To send Santa a letter telling him what I want for Christmas? This is what I am ready to write him:

Dear Santa,
I have been really good this year and there is only one thing I am asking for. There is a baby boy sitting in an orphanage waiting for his mom and dad to come get him. Please make my Christmas wish come true by making there be one less orphan this year.

Wishing him home for the holidays.
